AI - Is it just me.......?

AI just crash straight into you.
I'm playing Legend AI in a McLaren and i'm mid grid but get hit constantly by fast approaching Mercs and Ferraris in praccy and quali... funnily enough never under braking but always along straights.

I want to like this game.. you can see the step up in quality but if the AI are bonkers then it ruins the whole thing. I've looked forward to this for ages and now feel like I have no desire to play it anymore which really sucks
