HAS AI RACE-CRAFT ACTUALLY BEEN IMPROVED?

alright, i'm going to bring up a comparison here between the current f1 game and project cars. The project cars AI are suuper aggressive (on 100) and it makes racing way more intense, because overtakes actually require more skill and at times they even divebomb you! But then in F1 2016, the AI might as well not even be there, they just get out of your way all the time like a really generous person on the motorway "you first sir, i'm just here for a sunday drive" xD
you'll see here an example of project cars turn 1, you actually have to be cautious and it's almost impossible to divebomb anyone on the first lap, but in F1 2016 you can just gain 10 positions in the first corner with no problems! (ultimate difficulty). So have codemasters actually made an effort to improve AI racecraft or are they just going to say "close enough is good enough".

I'm  not saying project cars AI are perfect, but they are unpredictable. this makes racing way more interesting and even in a sense more realistic, because you need to be cautious and watch out for AI defending and also making aggresive overtakes.
Personally i'd love to have better AI way more than some classic cars, they need to get the basic fundamentals of good racing first before focusing their efforts into adding in mini-games in my opinion.
