Hi All,
Just wondering if I am the only one suffering from this issue.
For those who have spent some time in the career mode, it is not hard to notice that there is track evolution for the player (less evident for the AI) through out the practice and qualifying sessions. I am now at the end of my first season (Master with Sauber, 50% races), and have noticed through out the races that in general, the lap times of AI do evolve through out the race, but not mine.
Through the Tyre management programme in the practice session, I can keep the tyre wear in purple while maintaining a good (competitive, not far from my quali laps) and consistent lap time for the entire program at almost every track. I found it to be the same case for me in the race, but the lap times of AI seem to progressively drop when they lose fuel weight. I have tried multiple times to disallow my dropping concentration to be a cause (pausing for a break), and really push for quali laps in latter half of races, but I would still often be 1 second per lap slower than other cars that are comparable in development progress, such as Toro-Rosso and Force India.
Also, by Brazil in the 1st season I have brought Sauber up to 3rd in the development progress, only Merc and Ferrari are ahead of me. There are team such as Williams and Force India which are quite a bit behind (just a couple of spots from the bottom), and yet people like Bottas and Perez would produce similar qualy times to mine in late Q3. I understand there is also a driver element in the end performance, however this phenomenon leads me to wonder, whether a fully developed Sauber would still be slower than a fully developed Ferrari/Mercedes/Red Bull?
Opinions appreciated.
