I can't seem to find a thread on this specific subject, so I will start a new one. Forgive me if this has been discussed before, like I said, can't find anything relating specifically to what happened to me.
During the Australian GP, a weird thing seemed to happen. The race started in the sunshine, but clouds formed quickly and came the rain around lap 15. By lap 25, the rain was coming down harder and the track was now starting to get wet. I was starting to struggle on the slippery track with my soft tyres, but my engineer kept telling me it wasn't time to change, so I stuck to it. Yet, despite me struggling mightily to keep pace and stay on track, the AI were flying around the wet track, still on soft and supersoft tyres. A few laps later I decided that this made no sense and went in to pit for intermediate tyres, thinking the AI would do the same shortly after. To my surprise, with the track now even wetter and the rain coming down much harder, the AI were STILL on S and SS tyres and I was struggling even more with Inters than I was with softs. I had no grip at all and couldn't break, I would drive straight through corners. Of course, the AI were still flying as if the track was dry, despite at that point being in relatively heavy rain...
Is this a glitch?
Has this happened to anyone else?
Did I pit too soon?
Did I choose the wrong tyres?
It is hard for me to know if I did something wrong, of it there was some kind of glitch involved, because the AI weren't changing tyres and my engineer kept telling me to stay on S tyres, yet I could really feel the track being slippery and I had hardly any control over my car at all at that point, the handling was really changing and I based that off the conditions.
For the record, I play on XONE, expert difficulty, that was in career mode.
